With Host Pastor Anthony J. Artis
Anthony Jerome Artis knew at the tender age of six years old that he would be a preacher. While he didn’t know what all this would entail, he received numerous prophecies that he’d be like Jeremiah the prophet. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Foss Avenue Baptist Church where his first pastor was Reverend Dr. Avery Aldridge.
In junior high, Anthony’s mother, Juanita Artis, led the family to join Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of God in Christ (COGIC). He received the gift of the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) during his collegiate years in his early 20s. On December 19, 1992, Anthony was blessed to marry Davida Jo Blake. At the age of 27, Anthony was licensed to preach on November 13, 1994 by Reverend Marvin A. Jennings, Sr., the Senior Pastor at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church (Flint, MI). He, Davida, and their two sons (Blake and Isaiah) relocated so Anthony could attend The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, GA. He completed one-half of the requirements for a Master of Divinity (majoring in Homiletics and Theology) from 1998 to 2003. In 2003, they returned to Flint, MI and were active in several ministries. In 2010, Anthony was hired as the first African-American on the pastoral staff at Faith Tabernacle Church in Burton, MI where he served as an Associate Pastor (from 2010 to 2014).
In 2014, Anthony and Davida co-founded Dedicated Believers Ministries, which is a multicultural, nondenominational church and is based on the Word of God. All sermons are from The Holy Bible. The church’s mission is: to promote the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ, to advance the kingdom of God, to seek and to save the lost, to make disciples, and to make the world a better place! Our motto: “We are dedicated to God, family, and community!” Dedicated Believers Ministries (DBM) is an IRC Section 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, public charity, and nonprofit organization (and has been one and in good standing with federal, state, and city authorities since November 6, 2014. We are civic-minded and community-oriented with ministry and outreach activities that help impoverished individuals (adults, children, and seniors), needy people, poor persons, struggling families in Flint, MI; Burton, MI; the Greater Flint area; Genesee County; and abroad.
